EE-1 外置瞄準器的原理跟步槍上的瞄準器甚為相似，只要將瞄準器上的紅色十字對準主體，拍攝者就可以在不用顯示屏及電子觀景器的輔助下，把老遠的目標景物對準在畫面的正中央，過程既快速又可靠。EE-1外置瞄準器亦具備防塵防水滴功能，非常適合配搭超望遠鏡頭使用，在戶外拍攝雀鳥更加是易如反掌。EE-1 以鈕型電池供電，無需利用相機的主電源，能夠直接安裝在熱靴插座上。
